A highly respected 4th Dan Black Belt and the proud Founder of South Peninsula Judo Club. With more than 40 years of experience in Judo, he has dedicated his life to developing athletes, nurturing talent, and promoting the values of discipline, respect, and excellence both on and off the mat. Throughout his distinguished coaching career, Sensei Noel has built an impressive legacy, developing a vast number of champions at regional and national levels. His passion for teaching and deep technical understanding of the sport have enabled him to successfully coach and mentor both junior and senior judoka across all facets of judo. One of his greatest achievements has been the development of numerous black belts, many of whom have gone on to become successful competitors, coaches, and leaders within the judo community.

Strong passion for developing competitive athletes through disciplined, technical, and safe training practices. Specialising in stand-up competitive fighting (Tachi-waza), he focuses on building strong fundamentals, effective gripping strategies, explosive throwing techniques, and competition-ready tactical awareness. Having trained internationally, Sensei Andre brings a broad perspective and valuable experience to his coaching, incorporating proven methods from various training environments into his classes. He places a strong emphasis on correct technique execution, ensuring that junior competitors develop safe habits while maximizing performance on the competition mat.

A dedicated and highly skilled Judo instructor whose passion for the sport is reflected both in his own technical development and in the success of the athletes he mentors. He has developed a reputation as a technically astute competitor and coach, with particular expertise in competitive fighting strategies, defensive systems, and advanced groundwork. Renowned for his sharp analytical approach to Judo, Sensei Vernon specializes in Ne-waza (groundwork), where he emphasizes speed, precision, and positional dominance. As the coach of the club's competitive squad, Sensei Vernon plays a pivotal role in preparing judoka for tournaments at both local and higher levels of competition. His training sessions are structured around modern competition principles, blending technical excellence with strategic awareness, physical conditioning, and mental resilience.
10+ yearsSensei Hendrik Salmons
Has a passion for developing athletes through understanding rather than repetition, Sensei Salmons brings a methodical and analytical approach to coaching. Drawing on his teaching background, he excels at breaking down complex techniques into clear, manageable steps, ensuring students develop a strong foundation and an appreciation for the finer details of Judo. Known for his ability to analyse every aspect of a technique, Sensei Salmons provides students with a deeper understanding of correct execution, timing, balance, and body positioning. Patient, approachable, and deeply invested in the growth of his students, Sensei Salmons creates an environment where judoka of all levels can learn with confidence.

A highly accomplished National Judo Champion with extensive experience competing at both regional and national levels. Renowned for an explosive fighting style, he excels in stand-up competitive fighting (Tachi-waza), combining speed, power, and precision to dominate exchanges from the opening grip. His well-rounded approach to competition, coupled with years of tournament experience, makes him a formidable all-round judoka and an invaluable mentor to aspiring competitors. Passionate about developing technical excellence and a winning mindset, he brings energy, intensity, and proven success to every training session.
